Guiyang airport sets new records in core indicators

Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport handled a total of 5.24 million passenger trips during the summer travel rush from July 1 to Aug 31, marking a year-on-year increase of 7.8 percent. Flights operated reached 34,600, rising by 5.71 percent year-on-year.

To accommodate the massive summer passenger flow, the airport has coordinated with major airlines to scale up summer transport capacity and increase frequencies on popular routes linking the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta, and popular domestic tourist cities. Wide-body aircraft have been deployed for long-haul routes, effectively boosting the carrying capacity of these major routes.

Throughout the summer travel rush, the airport recorded 51 days with daily passenger throughput exceeding 80,000, an increase of 24 days compared with 2025.

Daily passenger throughput hit 90,888 on Aug 6, up 14.72 percent year-on-year, marking the first time the 90,000 threshold had been crossed. On Aug 11, daily passenger volume climbed to 91,972, setting a new all-time high for the airport. Flight operations reached 616 on Aug 18, establishing a record for the airport's highest single-day volume.

The airport will keep expanding its role as a key aviation hub. By offering top-tier airline services, it will promote the high-quality growth of Guizhou's civil aviation industry, tourism, and regional economic and social progress.
