Single-day passenger throughput exceeds 80,000 at Guiyang airport

Since the summer travel rush kicked off on July 1, Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport has experienced high traffic. As of Aug 3, it had handled a total of 2.78 million passengers, a year‑on‑year increase of 6.93 percent, with 18,597 flights operated, representing a 4.48 percent year‑on‑year rise.

The airport saw its single‑day passenger throughput top 80,000 for the first time this year on July 8. Since then, daily passenger traffic has topped 80,000 on 24 occasions. Compared with the same period last year, the airport reached the 80,000-passenger milestone 23 days earlier and has recorded 18 more days above that level.

To meet passengers' diverse travel demands, the airport continues to add flights to popular destinations. There are an average of more than 10 daily scheduled flights to destinations including Beijing, Shanghai, and Nanjing. Wide‑body aircraft have been deployed on multiple domestic routes such as Guiyang‑Beijing and Guiyang‑Shanghai.

For international and regional services, four routes are in operation during the summer travel rush, with flights to Macao, Singapore, Bangkok, and Ho Chi Minh City, further expanding travel options for passengers spending their summer holidays abroad.
