The five-day railway passenger travel rush for the 2026 Dragon Boat Festival holiday concluded on June 22. Inbound and outbound passenger volumes at three major railway passenger stations in Guizhou, namely Guiyangbei, Guiyangdong and Guiyang Railway stations, hit record highs for the holiday period.

The three stations handled a total of 734,400 outbound passenger trips, up 1.86 percent year-on-year. Nearly 720,000 passengers arrived at the three major stations by high-speed and conventional trains from destinations within and outside Guizhou province, representing a slight year-on-year rise.

June 19 saw a peak in outbound passenger traffic, with 187,700 departures from the three stations — an all-time high for the same period. Inbound passenger traffic peaked on June 21, when 189,300 travelers arrived at the three stations.

Guiyang Railway used big data to dynamically analyze changes in passenger traffic, allocate transport resources, and implement a daily train operation plan based on real-time demand to ensure safe, orderly, and comfortable trips for all passengers.
