The acceptance inspection for the Guanshanhu interchange-Jiaozi Mountain interchange section of the expansion project of the Guiyang-Anshun stretch along the Shanghai-Kunming Expressway has been completed, with the road set to be put into service soon.
Baihuahu Bridge, a key unit of the whole project, was built by a company affiliated to Guizhou Communications Investment Group Co. With a total length of 1,086 meters, it has adopted a single-pylon cable-stayed bridge structure with a hybrid girder configuration for its main span. Its main pylon is a 219-meter-high diamond-shaped spatial reinforced concrete pylon.
This ranks as the largest single-pylon hybrid girder cable-stayed bridge of its kind in Guizhou province. It features high technical specifications, was able to overcome significant construction challenges, and is of strategic importance in terms of transportation convenience and efficiency.
To verify the bridge's structural safety and mechanical performance, the project team conducted combined static and dynamic load tests. All measured indicators meet the design and specification requirements.
The Guiyang-Anshun Expressway expansion project will greatly shorten the travel time and distance between the two cities and improve the traffic capacity and service level of the Shanghai-Kunming Expressway.
It will provide solid transportation support for economic development and all-round rural vitalization along the route.
