To address students' commuting difficulties to and from school, Huaxi district in Guiyang has completed road surveys for 50 routes in coordination with transportation, traffic management, and emergency response authorities, with a planned allocation of 28 school buses to cover 25 primary, secondary schools, and kindergartens.

The routes are set to serve over 1,500 students, more than 1,000 of whom are from rural townships. The approval of the buses' operating permits is expected to be finalized by the end of June.
Huaxi has nine townships and 52 primary and secondary schools, including 48 public and four private, with a total of 27,303 students. Among them, 10 are small-scale schools with fewer than 100 students each, accommodating a total of 680 students. There are also 14 boarding schools with 3,856 students.
Targeting the prominent problems in Qiantao township, such as a high concentration of small-scale schools and long school commuting distances for students, the district has designated Qiantao township as a key area for improvement.
In terms of campus safety management, the formation rate of campus security teams at rural schools has reached 80 percent, and 26 schools have completed upgrades and renovations to video surveillance and face recognition systems at main gates.
The district will continue to advance the approval and operation of school bus routes, coordinate public transport services to expand coverage, and improve travel safety.
