A reporting team from China Global Television Network (CGTN) Africa visited Guiyang to conduct in-depth coverage of the city's No 252 "Huinong" (benefiting farmers) special bus line – operated by State-owned Guiyang Public Transport Co – on March 15.
The report, titled "China's bus network connects farmers to urban markets", was published on CGTN news website.

In the early hours of the same day, vegetable farmers from Wudang district, Guiyang, arrived at the starting station of Bus No 252 with baskets of freshly harvested vegetables. Drivers helped them carry the heavy baskets onto the bus and neatly arrange them – scenes captured by the CGTN reporting team's camera crew.
After the bus departed, the CGTN host conducted interviews inside the vehicle. Farmers shared their experiences with the service, "This bus saves us about half an hour of travel time. With a shorter journey, the vegetables stay fresher and can sell at a higher price," one farmer said. Another added, "The fare is affordable – just 7 yuan ($1) for one passenger with two baskets."
During the visit, Zhou Kaimin, deputy general manager of Guiyang Public Transport Co, and route team leader Luo Qiong also gave interviews. They noted that the special line began operating in June 2024. Guiyang Public Transport currently runs more than 40 dedicated routes serving various livelihood needs, including agricultural support and commuter services for migrant workers.
Zhou added that the company plans to add 10 additional customized livelihood-focused routes in 2026.
