Guiyang launched a special bus line to Shangmaicheng village on Feb 21, making it easier for citizens and tourists to enjoy the area's spectacular cherry blossoms.
The special line covers 12.6 kilometers, running directly from Guiyang Metro Line 1's Douguan Station to Shangmaicheng village's Guihuashu Square. Different from regular buses, the line runs by "stop on request", where passengers may signal the bus to board or alight at any safe area along the route.

The special line costs 2 yuan ($0.30) per person, with departures from Douguan Station every hour from 10 am to 1 pm. Return trips from Guihuashu Square depart hourly from 2 pm to 5 pm.
The entire special line takes about 40 minutes, followed by a 15- to 20-minute walk from Guihuashu Square to the cherry blossom garden, where visitors can enjoy the beautiful spring scenery.
"The cherry blossoms in Shangmaicheng are in full bloom, and I've been wanting to come see them. The direct service from the metro station is so thoughtful!" said Wang Hongying, a Guiyang citizen.
