Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area achieved remarkable progress in transportation infrastructure construction during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25).

The third phase of Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport was completed, and passenger volume reached a record high. New railways, including the Guiyang-Nanning High-Speed Railway, were built, forming a 2 to 8-hour high-speed railway traffic circle from Guiyang to major cities across China. The total road mileage in Guiyang's central urban area is 5,845.48 km, with the road network density in the built-up area reaching 9.49 km per square kilometer.

The city added 268 public parking lots with nearly 106,000 parking spaces. The average number of parking spaces per vehicle increased from 0.63 in 2021 to 0.71 in 2025. A public transport network of "Guiyang Loop Line Railway + Railway Transit + bus" was built, with rail transit covering all urban areas.

As of now, Guiyang has built a national new area and five national development zones, with Guiyang International Land Port becoming an important hub that connects the China-Europe Railway Express, the China-Laos Railway, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, and the Guangdong-Guizhou channel.

During the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30), Guiyang will utilize its traffic location advantages, accelerate the development of a modern comprehensive transportation system, promote lower logistics costs and higher efficiency, and strive to resolve traffic bottlenecks restricting high-quality development.
