The international and regional passenger throughput at Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport reached 198,193 in the first three quarters of this year, according to Guizhou Civil Aviation Industry Group. Inbound passenger throughput was 39,612, a year-on-year increase of 399 percent.

During the period, Guizhou Civil Aviation Industry Group continued to optimize its flight route network, forming a dual-driven pattern of "domestic express routes + international expansion" at Guiyang airport.

In terms of domestic routes, multiple new routes were opened and several saw increased flight frequency, with 161 domestic originating routes and 25 stopover routes. For international and regional routes, the airport took advantage of the 240-hour visa-free transit policy to accommodate inbound passenger flows from key cities.

As of Sept 30, the airport had launched international passenger routes to destinations including Bangkok, Osaka, Kuala Lumpur, Milan, Singapore, Jakarta, Hanoi, and Seoul, as well as regional passenger routes to Macao and Hong Kong.

With the goal of building a regional aviation hub, Guizhou Civil Aviation Industry Group has achieved breakthroughs in multiple areas, including route expansion and service upgrades, with impressive data during peak transport periods. During the summer travel season from July 1 to Aug 31, the airport handled a total passenger throughput of 4.87 million, with a daily average of 78,500, a year-on-year increase of 3.52 percent. This growth rate was higher than the national civil aviation average.

In addition, the cargo channels at the airport remained smooth, providing a convenient bridge for Guizhou products to go global. A total of 89,950.94 metric tons of cargo and mail throughput was completed in the first three quarters, a year-on-year increase of 17.34 percent. Imported goods mainly included crabs, ricefield eels, and fresh chili peppers, while exported goods were predominantly fabrics, clothing, mechanical parts, and flowers.
