Immersive garden fair blends wine and tradition

An immersive ancient Chinese-style garden fair was held in Guiyang on Sept 10 as part of the 14th China (Guizhou) International Alcoholic Beverages Expo. The event combined role play, traditional performances, folk customs, and alcoholic beverage tasting, offering visitors a deep dive into both classical culture and the history of alcohol.

At the China (Guiyang) International Alcoholic Expo City, traditional culture enthusiasts, alcohol consumers and photography enthusiasts joined interactive activities such as archery-style pitch-pot, riddle guessing, and puzzles, collecting rewards as they visited nine merchant booths. Multiple immersive "NPC halls" were set up, including a poetry pavilion where guests completed verses from Tang (618-907) and Song (960-1279) dynasties, a stage hall with theatrical movement challenges, and a workshop for silver jewelry making or batik dyeing.

The experience also featured alcoholic beverage culture integration, where visitors sampled specialty drinks for free in the merchant display area and received tokens or vouchers in return.

In recent years, traditional attire and folk culture experiences have grown in popularity among young people. With its extensive merchant resources and spacious grounds, China (Guiyang) International Alcoholic Expo City has become the ideal place to merge alcoholic beverage culture with Chinese tradition.
