Guizhou Railway transports over 22m passengers in summer

During the summer travel rush of 2025 from July 1 to Aug 31, Guizhou Railway hosted a total of 22.32 million passengers (360,000 passengers per day), a year-on-year increase of 10.6 percent and setting a new record for this period.

Guiyang has become one of the top 10 most popular cities for domestic tourism, and cities such as Liupanshui and Bijie have become preferred destinations for summer vacations. Over 10 million passengers travel to Guizhou by railway for summer sightseeing, driving Guizhou's railway passenger traffic to record highs.

The three major stations of Guizhou Railway – Guiyangbei Railway Station, Guiyangdong Railway Station, and Guiyang Railway Station – saw 8.57 million, 1.75 million, and 1.73 million passengers, respectively. The cumulative passenger traffic of the three major stations reached 12.05 million, accounting for 54 percent of all Guizhou Railway passengers and setting a new record for summer passenger traffic at the three major stations.

On Aug 10, the three major stations hosted a total of 228,000 passengers – the highest of any single day in history.
