Guiyang Railway sees peak passenger flow

Guiyang Railway is experiencing its final passenger surge of the summer, which is expected to last until from Aug 22 to mid-September.

A representative of the Guiyang Railway Station said that the passenger flow continues to rise. The three major railway stations are serving more than 193,000 departing passengers per day, an increase of nearly 100,000 compared to off-peak season. The main travel destinations outside the province include Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, Xi'an, and Beijing, while within the province include Zunyi, Liupanshui, Bijie, Anshun, Duyun, and Kaili.

According to passenger transport statistics from Guiyang Railway Station, from July 1 to Aug 25, the three major stations in Guiyang have served over 10 million departing passengers, an increase of 1.13 million year-on-year, up 12.7 percent. The number of passengers received during this period reached 10.12 million, an increase of 12.2 percent year-on-year.

The three major stations served a total of 228,000 departing passengers on Aug 10, setting a record for the highest number of passengers in a single day during summer travel.
