As summer tourism heats up in Guiyang, the sunflower fields at Jinzhong Avenue in Zhuchang town, Guanshanhu district, have begun attracting large crowds. State-owned Guiyang Public Transport Co's Northern Operations Division launched a dedicated "sunflower shuttle line" on July 30, providing a direct and convenient transport option.
The move reflects a swift response to public demand. On July 29, a transit research team of the division conducted on-site surveys and analyzed passenger flow around the sunflower base. Findings showed a mismatch between high visitor volume and the limited direct bus capacity. Within a single day, the division completed route design, planning, and implementation of the special line.
The shuttle connects Douguan Metro Station with the sunflower fields, operating daily from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm. Service frequency will be adjusted dynamically based on bloom period popularity and real-time demand to ensure adequate transport capacity.
The State-owned Guiyang Public Transport Co will continue exploring customized transit routes tailored to cultural and tourism activities, aiming to enhance travel experiences for residents and visitors alike while boosting rural tourism development.
