Guiyang SOE launches special bus route to serve construction workers

The Central Operations Branch of State-owned Guiyang Public Transport Group launched a new dedicated bus route tailored to workers in the construction industry on July 1.

The route is designed with several worker-friendly features. The first bus departs at 6:20 am, 10 minutes earlier than regular lines, to help passengers avoid rush hour congestion. Stops are placed along main roads to align with workers' commuting patterns and seamlessly connect with the city's metro system. Spacious buses were selected to reduce the chance of construction tools causing damage or discomfort during travel.

"It used to be hard to squeeze onto crowded buses. But this special route is roomy and always on time," said one construction worker.

This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to build a more responsive public transport system. The branch will continue refining its "mobility needs map" to better serve a diverse array of scenarios, from rural vitalization to everyday livelihood, by offering more precise route planning and thoughtful and people-centered services.
