The final bit of concrete of the No 7 cover beam on the left side of the Niejiabao Bridge was poured on July 4, marking the completion of the substructure of the 12th section of the Guiyang-Anshun section expansion project of the Shanghai-Kunming National Expressway.

The 12th section of the project is located in Pingba district and Xixiu district of Anshun, Guizhou province. There are nine bridges in the section, with a total length of 3,446 meters. The lower structure includes 587 pile foundations, 33 bearing platforms, 349 tie beams, 387 pier bodies, 197 cover beams, and 33 bridge piers, all of which have been completed.

During the construction process, Gui'an Expressway Co implemented the first engineering quality evaluation mechanism, urged the project department to implement full process supervision and control for high-risk construction links and key processes, and adopted a combination of intelligent monitoring and manual inspection to strengthen the maintenance management of large volume concrete such as abutments and piers.

The project is led by Guizhou Expressway Group and invested and constructed by various shareholders, including Guizhou Highway Development Group, China Railway Development and Investment Group Co, and China Railway Construction Co. It features a total length of 90.72 kilometers, starting from Guanshanhu district, Guiyang, connecting with the completed Ring Expressway, and ending in Puding county, Anshun. The entire line is constructed according to expressway standards, with a designed speed of 100 km per hour.
