One of the garden's highlights is its thematic botanical collection, featuring over 2,000 species of medicinal plants, including rare and endangered species such as dove trees and dendrobes. A must-visit within the garden is the Guiyang Medicinal Resources Museum, a 9,470-square-meter facility with nine exhibition halls. The museum houses an impressive collection of over 40,000 medicinal plant, animal, and mineral specimens from across China, along with 10,000 exhibits showcasing traditional medicine's rich history and diversity.

Other sites include the Medicinal Plant Resource Hall, the Ethnic Medicinal Resource Hall, and the Medicinal Animal and Plant Hall, making it the first museum in Guizhou dedicated to traditional Chinese and ethnic medicine.
