The Guiyang Medicinal Botanical Garden is a unique sanctuary where scientific research, ecological preservation, and cultural heritage intersect.

As Guizho's only botanical garden dedicated to medicinal plants, it offers visitors a captivating blend of botanical science, landscape artistry, and the rich traditions of Chinese medicine.

The garden spans nearly 700 mu (47 hectares) and has pathways named after medicinal herbs. They guide visitors through a lush environment, with over 60 percent of the area covered by forest. This natural haven boasts a distinctive subtropical plateau ecosystem, making it an immersive experience for nature lovers and researchers.

One of the garden's highlights is its thematic botanical collection, featuring over 2,000 species of medicinal plants, including rare and endangered species such as dove trees and dendrobes. Wandering through the park, visitors are surrounded by a vast array of medicinal flora, offering a glimpse into the wonders of traditional Chinese herbal medicine.

A must-visit within the garden is the Guiyang Medicinal Resources Museum, a 9,470-square-meter facility with nine exhibition halls. The museum houses an impressive collection of over 40,000 medicinal plant, animal, and mineral specimens from across China, along with 10,000 exhibits showcasing traditional medicine's rich history and diversity.

Other sites include the Medicinal Plant Resource Hall, the Ethnic Medicinal Resource Hall, and the Medicinal Animal and Plant Hall, making it the first museum in Guizhou dedicated to traditional Chinese and ethnic medicine.
