Guiyang Public Transport Co recently announced its plans for 2025, focusing on four major initiatives: Public Welfare Transport, Convenient Transport, Integrated Transport, and Innovative Transport. The goal is to achieve a daily ridership of over 850,000 passengers on road-based public transportation.
For Public Welfare Transport, the company will promote the development of an open transit system, advancing new models such as micro-circulation buses and minibuses. Customized travel services and temporary minibus stops will be introduced to cater to local needs.
Efforts will be made to optimize transport capacity, build a robust public transit backbone network, and enhance the micro-circulation bus network. Based on changing passenger demand patterns, the company will diversify vehicle types by gradually increasing the proportion of medium and small-sized buses while reducing large bus deployments. Fourteen high-frequency bus routes will be established, working alongside the rail transit network to serve 87 percent of Guiyang's central urban population.
For Integrated Transport, the company will accelerate the construction and improvement of connectivity facilities for Phase I of the S1 metro line. More than eight new conventional bus routes will be introduced, and at least 22 existing routes will be adjusted to improve the integration of bus and rail networks.
The company will continue developing the intelligent Public Transport Brain, integrating data from metro systems, circular railways, trams, and ground buses to optimize rail-bus connectivity. To promote green travel, the Qianshuang Public Transport Service Platform will be enhanced, incorporating the Easy Buy Bus Mall. A carbon credit reward system will convert public transport ridership into consumer benefits, integrating daily commuting with shopping, dining, and other lifestyle services.
