On Feb 3, Guiyang North, Guiyang East, and Guiyang railway stations experienced an unprecedented surge in traffic, sending off a staggering 147,000 passengers in a single day, setting a new record for the highest single-day passenger volume in Guiyang's Spring Festival travel history.

"The post-holiday travel rush in Guiyang started earlier, escalated faster, and reached an unprecedented scale this year," said a railway station official. Since Jan 29, passenger departures from Guiyang's three major stations surged from 45,000 on Chinese New Year's Eve to 73,000, marking a rapid increase in demand.

According to statistics, from Jan 14 to Feb 4, the three railway stations in Guiyang handled 2.55 million passengers, averaging 116,000 travelers per day – both total passenger volume and daily departures have hit all-time highs for this period.

Rail ticket pre-sale data indicate that from Feb 4 to 13, most long-distance high-speed train tickets departing from Guiyang North Station to major cities in South China such as Guangzhou and Shenzhen and East China such as Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Ningbo are fully booked. However, trains heading to North China such as Beijing and Shijiazhuang and Southwest China such as Chengdu, Chongqing and Kunming, as well as Northwest China such as Xi'an still have some available seats.

To accommodate the surge in travelers, additional trains have been added on high-demand routes to Guangzhou, Foshan, and Shanghai. Guiyang's railway stations have also enhanced service measures to ensure a safe and efficient journey for all passengers.
