Construction of the Guiyang-Pingtang Expressway's Guiyang to Longli connection is progressing smoothly. Eighty percent of the work has been completed, and it is expected to be finished by July 2025. This 22.77-kilometer expressway, including a 12.7-kilometer stretch in Longli county and 10 kilometers in Guiding county, will be a four-lane road built to a first-class standard. It will cost approximately 1.27 billion yuan ($175 million).
The new road will connect Guizhou's provincial capital, Guiyang, with Longli and Guiding, providing travelers with a faster, more efficient route. It will start from Youzhuan Avenue in Guiding county and end at Shilonggou Bridge in Longli, linking existing city roads and the Guiyang-Longli Urban Expressway to form a rapid city passageway between the regions.
Bridge and tunnel work is expected to be finished by the end of the year, and the final construction on the Xiangqian Railway Bridge is scheduled for completion by June 2025. Additionally, the Sanyuan Interchange in Longli, which provides access to the expressway, is also under construction.
This project will boost regional development, enhance tourism and industrial growth in Longli, and strengthen the economic integration of Guiyang, Longli, and Guiding. The new route is expected to improve both local economies and regional transportation networks.
