The Panzhou-Xingyi High-Speed Railway (Panxing Railway) is making significant progress. It is moving closer to completing a high-speed rail network that will connect Guiyang to all eight cities and prefectures in Guizhou within 1 to 2 hours, marking a milestone of "high-speed rail access to every city" in the province.
On Nov 18, the final box girder of the Xiangshui Town Bridge was installed, completing a critical construction phase of the Panxing Railway project. The railway spans approximately 98.3 kilometers and has a designed speed of 250 km/h. It is expected to be operational by the end of 2025.
The railway will feature two key stations: Xingyi South Railway Station and Baotian Railway Station. With a building area of 19,954 square meters, Xingyi South Railway Station incorporates design elements inspired by the unique landscapes of Wanfenglin in Qianxinan prefecture. Once operational, it will become a major transportation hub, significantly improving local travel convenience.
As a vital component of Guizhou's transportation infrastructure under China's 13th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), the Panxing Railway will drastically reduce travel time between Guiyang and Xingyi. It will also enhance the province's high-speed rail network, creating an efficient and interconnected system that links all major cities in Guizhou.
