Guiyang provides smart parking service for residents

The Guiyang Transportation Commission has partnered with leading map navigation platforms such as Amap (Gaode) and Baidu Maps to share comprehensive parking data and provide residents with a smart parking services.

By consolidating parking resources from Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area, the commission is advancing the development of smart parking infrastructure and upgrading existing parking lots with digital and networked functionalities. This initiative aims to optimize the use of existing parking spaces and improve efficiency.

Li Guorui, director of the parking lot management office of the Guiyang transportation commission, said that nearly 900 commercial parking lots have been integrated into the system, which offers data on locations, total spaces, availability, pricing, and operational hours. Through collaboration with navigation platforms, residents can now access real-time information about parking lots near their destinations, including available spaces and fees, and navigate directly to their selected parking lot.

Moving forward, the commission plans to further expand the integration of dynamic parking data, broadening the scope of smart parking services to enhance convenience and efficiency for residents. Additionally, Guiyang and Gui'an are set to add over 18,000 new public parking spaces this year, helping to meet the growing demand for parking in the two regions.
