The Jinsha-Renhuai-Tongzi Expressway (Jinrentong Expressway) opened on Sept 13, reducing the driving time between Guiyang and Renhuai in Southwest China's Guizhou province from around 150 minutes to just 90 minutes.
The 102-kilometer expressway, with a designed speed of 80 kilometers per hour, connects Panshui town in Zunyi city to Shanping village in Tongzi county, passing through Renhuai city.
The expressway features 60 bridges, 26 tunnels, 12 interchanges, nine toll stations, and two service areas. It connects with the Guiyang-Jinsha-Gulin Expressway, creating a new major highway route between Guiyang and Renhuai.
The Tongzi River Bridge, a globally significant structure, is a key highlight of the expressway. The bridge is the world's first large-span suspension bridge using a no-pile foundation design, spanning 1,422 meters with a main span of 965 meters and a height of 208 meters. Positioned at the border of Renhuai and Tongzi, the bridge crosses a key tributary of the Chishui River. It is an engineering marvel, likened to a "steel dragon" over the waters.
The Jinrentong Expressway strengthens the transport network in northern Guizhou, boosting connections between Guiyang, Renhuai, Bijie, and Chongqing and promoting economic growth, tourism, and resource development in the region.
