On Sept 8, China Railway 17th Bureau Urban Construction Co announced the completion and inspection of Section 3 of Guiyang Metro Line S1, laying a solid foundation for the metro line's full operation.
The first phase of Guiyang Metro Line S1 spans 30.32 kilometers and includes 13 stations. The 14.1-kilometer Section 3 consists of four stations and 4.5 kilometers of tunnels.
The line will connect Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area upon completion, encouraging population distribution and urban functions away from the city center. This will significantly enhance the region's transport network and improve residents' commutes.
Innovative construction methods, such as the diamond-shaped cantilever formwork, automated CPIII railway data collection systems, and BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology, were utilized to ensure precise construction and efficient management. These advancements reduced construction errors, improved safety, and optimized progress tracking, making the project modern and efficient.
Safety remains a top priority, with initiatives like "smart helmets" equipped with GPS chips to monitor workers' locations in real time, even in deep tunnels.
Large-scale emergency drills are regularly conducted to ensure preparedness, with integrated efforts from fire departments and hospitals.
Completing this section of Guiyang Metro Line S1 marks a major step forward in the city's transformation, helping to build a more livable, connected, and resilient urban environment.
