With the summer vacation starting in July, low-coast regional airline Colorful Guizhou Airlines is ramping up its operations to meet the expected high demand.
With the addition of a new A320 aircraft in June, the airline has opened new routes from Guiyang to the northwest regions and has increased flights to southwestern and eastern China, totaling 52 routes.
Ticket sales data reportedly predicts a significant increase in passenger flows on popular routes including the Yiwu-Tianfu, Chongqing-Yiwu, Guiyang-Beijing Daxing and Guiyang-Taizhou runs. In all, the airline predicts it will carry 635,000 passengers during the summer season.
To ensure its smooth operations, the airline has boosted its safety, operations and service protocols, coordinated various resources, reviewed flight plans and prepared for adverse weather conditions including thunderstorms, high winds and high heat.
Moreover, the airline has optimized its "hub-and-spoke" and "point-to-point" travel products. From July 1 to July 31, multiple point-to-point flights will operate daily – including new and increased flights such as the Xingyi-Maotai-Nanchang route – expecting to transport 72,000 passengers with an average load factor of 78 percent.
Internationally, the airline plans to open a Guiyang-Hanoi route, having carefully researched market demand and planned flight schedules.
