Guiyang optimizes connection between buses and metro lines

To improve the convenience, accessibility, and efficiency of public transportation, Guiyang Public Transport Co based in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, will optimize and adjust its bus network after the opening of Guiyang Metro Line 3. 

The bus route adjustment involves the suspension of 22 routes, the introduction of 10 new routes, and the optimization and adjustment of 20 routes. 

After the optimization and adjustment process, the coverage of the bus network will not be reduced. Instead, it will enhance the connectivity between the bus routes and the metro system. For the passenger flow along the suspended routes, alternative routes or scheduled shuttle buses will be provided to ensure residents are not affected in their daily travel. 

With the optimized bus network, redundant bus routes along Ruijin Road, Zhonghua Road, Renmin Avenue, Baihua Avenue, Guanshan East Road, and Xintian Avenue in the city center will be reduced. This will alleviate traffic congestion and improve the efficiency of urban road traffic. 

Guiyang Public Transport Co will establish a road-based public transportation system on eight urban trunk lines, including Xintian Avenue, Beijing Road, and Huaxi Avenue. One or two bus routes will be set up on each trunk road, and the remaining branch lines will be extended horizontally to serve the main routes.
