Guiyang Ring Expressway G6002 (Jianxiaoduan), the first cloud service-based standard toll station in Southwest China's Guizhou province, was recently put into operation in the provincial capital Guiyang.

The toll station integrates display screens, cameras, and barrier gates, occupying a smaller area and featuring a simpler lane layout than regular toll stations.

Leveraging the services of the toll cloud platform and intelligent facilities, toll collectors can easily manage multiple toll lanes. When situations such as mismatched license plates or vehicle types and transaction timeouts occur, toll collectors can promptly handle them remotely.

They can also handle various scenarios through the mobile assistant app. This means that toll collectors' work stations have shifted from inside the booth to outside, freeing up more time and space for vehicle guidance and handling special situations.

The implementation of this toll station is a result of the transformation and enhancement of Guizhou's highway toll system towards more intelligent and unmanned operations.

Compared to regular toll stations, the upgraded version is expected to see the cash usage rate drop to just 0.01 percent.

It will also increase the transaction success rate to 99.9 percent, see a 30 percent improvement in average passage efficiency, and a 20-percent reduction in labor operation costs.

Such improvements increase the operational efficiency of the toll station, providing better services to drivers and passengers.
