Guiyang Public Transport Co launched several express bus routes on Oct 17 to meet the commuting needs of residents during peak hours in Guiyang city, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The company added express routes for bus Nos 83, 49, 253, 9, 26, 219, 58, and 60, which are specifically designed for major stations with large passenger volume.
Among them, the No 83 express bus route, aimed at meeting the travel needs of residents living in the Yu'an community as well as the Zhongtian Future Ark community in Yunyan district, operates during peak hours on weekdays. The route is 9.6 kilometers long, with 12 stops, and a round-trip time of about 62 minutes. Compared to existing regular bus routes, it has 17 fewer stops and shortens the total travel time by about 62 minutes, while increasing the operating speed of the buses by 29 percent.
In the future, Guiyang Public Transport Co will adjust the operation frequency and departure times based on passenger flow, generally improve transportation services, and make travel more convenient and efficient for locals.
