Construction work on Guiyang Metro Line S1, a light rail transit project in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is progressing smoothly with 93 percent of the civil works already completed.
In addition, all bridges have been constructed, and the work on electrical systems and track laying is proceeding in an orderly manner.
Spanning a distance of 30.32 kilometers, Guiyang Metro Line S1 comprises 13 stations starting from Zaojiaoba in Guian New Area and ending at Wangchengpo in Nanming district. It will serve as a key transportation link between Guian New Area and the city's urban core.
According to Shi Feng, commander of the general contracting division for the Guiyang Metro Line S1 Phase I project, out of the 13 stations, eight have entered the phase of electrical and mechanical decoration. The roofing work on all of the stations is due to be completed by the end of this year. The short track and long track connections are expected to be finished in the first quarter of 2024, followed by the electrification work in the Q2, and the commencement of trial operations in the Q3.
