Unmanned toll stations put into use in Guiyang

english.guiyang.gov.cn|Updated: 2023-09-28

The first unmanned toll stations were put into trial operation by the Guiyang Operation Center of Guizhou Expressway Group Co in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Sept 22.

When drivers approach the self-service lanes of the unmanned toll stations, the self-payment installation can autonomously position and extend based on the vehicle type and parking position. Drivers only need to insert the composite pass card into the slot. The display screen and voice prompt will simultaneously indicate the payment amount. After scanning the payment code and completing the payment, drivers can retrieve the invoice themselves.

Furthermore, the unmanned toll system integrates cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, and other technologies to accurately identify vehicle types and axle information with an accuracy rate of over 99 percent. This ensures both the efficiency of toll station passage and precise toll collection.

The next batch of unmanned toll stations will be put into use by the end of this year.
