Summer getaways tip passenger volume past 4m at Guiyang airport

Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recorded passenger throughput of 4.06 million during the summer travel season from July 1 to Aug 31, marking a return to the pre-pandemic level recorded in 2019.

During this period, the airport saw average daily passenger volume reach 65,400. On Aug 6, the passenger throughput hit 71,758, setting a new historical record to surpass that of 2019. 

As of July 18, the airport's passenger throughput for this year has exceeded 10 million, according to Guizhou Civil Aviation Industry Group Co. 

Since the beginning of this year, the airport has implemented measures to promote the smooth operation of the Terminal 3 border function area, improving airport efficiency and passenger service quality.

It has now resumed international and regional flights to destinations such as Bangkok and Phuket, enhanced its domestic flight network with improved connectivity to major hub airports in the cities of Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou, and opened 177 air routes to 107 cities.
