Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, issued two local standards of "Specifications for Urban Rail Transit Passenger Service Signage" and "Specifications for Urban Rail Transit Operation Safety Signage" on July 28.
The Guiyang Transportation Committee has proposed and collaborated with Guiyang Urban Rail Transit Operation Co to draft two local standards set to become effective from Oct 1.
The former defines terminology, general requirements, and specific installation requirements for passenger service signage within urban rail transit stations and trains.
The latter provides terminology, general requirements, and specific installation requirements for operation safety signage in urban rail transit trains, stations, and sections where safety reminders are necessary. It includes detailed provisions on signage models, dimensions, colors, geometric symbols, borders, and selection.
Implementing the two standards sets the stage to contribute to the uniformity of urban rail transit passenger service and operation safety signage, providing a reference for installing, maintaining, and supervising relevant signage and promoting the overall service and safety management of urban rail transit in Guiyang.
