Guizhou Provincial Development and Reform Commission issued a 2023-25 plan on July 24 for advancing new-type urbanization in Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The province will accelerate the construction of the Guiyang Metro Line S1 Phase 1, while researching and seeking approval to build more rail transit lines in the provincial capital of Guiyang.

Meanwhile, efforts will be made to achieve interconnectivity between the S1 Line and metro lines 1, 2, and 3; enable a rapid connection between the Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport and Guian New Area; support the operation of high-speed trains on the Shanghai-Kunming Railway, and increase the number of trains stopping at the Guian Railway Station, so as to create a 30-minute commuting circle between Guiyang and Guian.

Furthermore, the Guiyang-Guian-Anshun metropolitan area will see accelerated development. This will involve the expansion of the Guiyang-Anshun section of the Shanghai-Kunming National Highway, the construction of the Guiyang Outer Ring Road, an extension of Guian Avenue, and the development of urban expressways such as Guan'an Road, Beidouhu Road, and the Pingba Ring Road.

With these infrastructure projects, Guizhou is taking decisive steps to enhance its urbanization efforts, improve transportation connectivity, and foster regional development, thereby promoting economic growth and improving the quality of life of its residents.
