Guiyang, Guian New Area develop comprehensive transport system

Guiyang and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province will build a comprehensive transportation system with seamless connection and efficient services using multiple modes of transportation, according to a press conference held by the local government on June 19. 

Urban road network

Guiyang and Guian New Area will accelerate the construction of the 10 horizontal and 10 vertical skeleton road network system in Guian, speed up building "Jianshe Avenue-Jinge Road-Tianhetan Avenue-Guian Avenue", realize the rapid interconnection between Guian and Guiyang city's urban core, northern center and eastern center, and strengthen transportation services for industrial development, rural vitalization, and residents' daily life. 

Rail transit and high-speed rail hub

Guiyang and Guian will accelerate the construction of the first phase of the rail transit line S1 project so it can begin operations in 2024, and realize the interconnections and transfers between line S1 and lines 1 and 3.

The public transportation links between Guian and Guanshanhu, and Yunyan and Nanming districts in Guiyang will also be strengthened.

Guiyang and Guian will coordinate with the China Railway Chengdu Bureau Group to speed up improving the comprehensive passenger transport hub function of Guian High-speed Railway Station.

They will also open Shanghai-Kunming passenger rail transport services and add extra stops for trains on the trunk line of the Shanghai-Kunming Railway, and try to open a long-line passenger transport business at Guian High-speed Railway Station this year. 

Regular public transport

Guiyang and Guian will newly open multi-level bus lines for rapid, customized, internal circulation, scenic area, and night buses in the core area of Guian, to realize the smooth connection of the rapid bus line network between the core area of Guian and large transportation hubs, urban groups and major scenic spots in Guiyang.

Construction work on Yunmanhu Station, Fukang North Road Station, and Country Garden Station will also be advanced. 

Ordinary roads

Guiyang and Guian will strive for policy subsidies such as a car purchase tax for the construction of regular roads both inside and outside Guian, realize the effective connection of expressways, ordinary roads and municipal roads, and improve the service of the regional highway network.
