In a recent development, the international area of Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport in Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province in Southwest China, underwent a significant transition. The bustling international section of the airport was seamlessly relocated from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3.

This involves procedure changes for international departures, passenger transfers, and arrivals. Passengers taking international, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan flights must go to T3 to complete the relevant check-in procedures.

The new 45,600-square-meter international area at T3 is designed to handle annual international passenger throughput of 1.2 million. The area has four baggage claim carousels, four bridge parking stands, and six boarding gates.

The international outbound baggage check-in service is now conveniently located on the H check-in island on the third floor of T3. Passengers can effortlessly complete the necessary procedures for their checked baggage at this designated area, streamlining the check-in process and expediting their journey.

To further enhance the efficiency of customs inspections, the inspection process has been strategically set up on the fourth floor of T3. This centralized location allows for swift and meticulous inspections, minimizing waiting times for passengers.

One of the notable advancements in the new international area is the implementation of a cutting-edge smart inspection system. Outbound passengers can now check their checked baggage only once and swiftly complete the machine inspection within a mere 10 seconds. This significant reduction in inspection time contributes to the overall efficiency of the customs clearance process, allowing travelers to proceed seamlessly through the airport.

Meanwhile, for inbound passengers, the process is equally streamlined. They are now only required to check their hand luggage, eliminating the need for additional inspections of their checked baggage.
