The first direct flight between Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, and Mangshi in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Southwest China's Yunnan province, took off on March 26.
The direct flights will operate every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. They will take off at noon from Guiyang and arrive in Mangshi at 1:35 pm, while return flights will take off at 2:20 pm from Mangshi and arrive in Guiyang at 3:55 pm.
On March 27, Dehong's bureau of culture and tourism and bureau of transportation, together with Dehong Industrial Investment Co and Dehong Mangshi Airport, held a tourism and investment promotion event in Guiyang.
At the event, Yang Min, deputy director of the Dehong bureau of culture and tourism, introduced Dehong's culture, history, geographical advantages, and ethnic customs.
According to Yang, Dehong has no severe temperatures in winter nor in summer. Its trees bear fruit all year round, and it has beautiful scenery, and a livable environment. Visitors to Dehong are sure to experience its unique ethnic customs and exotic culture. They can also find high-quality rare stones and beautiful jade in the autonomous prefecture.
After years of development, Dehong's tourism sector has become a major industry to boost its economic growth and provide job opportunities. Currently, Dehong Mangshi Airport has opened various flight routes to major domestic cities, and one direct flight route to Myanmar's Mandalay City.
At the promotion event, culture and tourism companies from both Guiyang and Dehong communicated with each other and reached cooperation intentions.
