Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, and Guian New Area improved road traffic conditions in 2022.
Guiyang and Guian New Area took targeted measures to control road congestion near schools, hospitals, shopping malls and other transportation hubs.
From January to July 2022, Guiyang's traffic congestion index ranked outside the top 10 most congested cities in the country, according to a third-party data platform. As a whole, its congestion index, congestion mileage, and congestion duration all showed a downward trend, which indicates the city's efforts in traffic congestion control.
In addition, Guiyang and Guian New Area put in great efforts to build an urban parking system over the last year, to improve parking management. So far, Guiyang and Guian New Area have built 27,820 new public parking spaces, and they have made parking free during certain periods in all qualified parking lots of government agencies, institutions and State-owned enterprises.
