The three major railway stations in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, served 491,000 passengers during the 2023 Spring Festival holiday on Jan 21-27, marking an increase of about 10 percent compared with the 2022 Spring Festival holiday.

To alleviate rail traffic congestion during the period, Guiyang, Guiyang North and Guiyang East railway stations launched emergency plans, tracked changes in passenger flow, added EMU trains to the cities of Guangzhou, Foshan, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Liupanshui, and Zunyi, and reconnected EMU trains to expand transportation capacity.

In addition, the three railway stations improved the processes for transferring and entering and exiting the stations, assigned additional personnel in ticket halls, elevator entrances, and platforms, and strengthened ventilation in the stations.
