Gaopo Tourism Ring Road, a new travel route in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is expected to open in December.
The 25.13-kilometer ring road, which has a total investment of 265.54 million yuan ($37.08 million), will pass through Qingyan town, Qiantao township, and Gaopo township in Huaxi district and reach an altitude of 548.21 meters.
A total of 27 tourism projects will be developed along the ring road, including mountain sports, low-altitude air tours, extreme sports, homestay businesses, and resort camps.
A series of high-quality outdoor activities such as mountain cross-country competitions in Gaopo township, a national rock-climbing tournament, and a marathon competition are planned to take place along the road.
The road is expected to alleviate traffic congestion from Qingyan town to Gaopo township, connect tourist spots in eight villages in Qingyan, Qiantao and Gaopo, and create jobs and increase incomes for 16,316 people living nearby.
Sun Dingxue, general manager of Huaxi Tourism and Culture Investment Development and Management Co, said that the ring road will play a positive role in promoting the rural vitalization in Huaxi district.
