Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has developed into a national transport hub by establishing a comprehensive transport network over the past decade.
The city realized direct connections with the cities of Guangzhou, Changsha, Kunming, Chongqing, and Chengdu, and connections with surrounding provincial capitals via high-speed railways.
A provincial railway transportation network revolving around Guiyang was formed, laying a solid foundation for further opening-up.
In 2018, the passenger throughput of Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport exceeded 20 million, a record high. In 2021, a third-phase reconstruction and expansion project was completed at the airport.
In November 2021, 14 cargo ships departed from Kaiyang Port in Kaiyang county administered by Guiyang for Wuhu Port in East China's Anhui province, marking the resumption of Wujiang River water transportation.
