Kaiyang road strives to be China's top 10 most beautiful rural road

A road in Kaiyang county in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is competing to become one of the top 10 most beautiful rural roads in the country in 2022.

The activity was initiated by the Ministry of Transport in May this year.

The Kaiyang road aims to showcase the historical changes and achievements made by Guiyang in rural road construction and rural revitalization. 

The road originates in Daqiao village of Wudang district, passing through Hefeng township of Kaiyang county and ending in Kaiyang's Longguang village.

The total length of the road in Kaiyang is 18.5 kilometers. The road and related facilities are of high quality.

Many famous attractions in Guiyang are located along the road, including the national 4A-level scenic spot Nanjiang Grand Canyon Scenic Spot, provincial-level scenic spots Shili Gallery Scenic Spot and Xianghuoyan Canyon, as well as the national-level cultural relic protection unit Matou Ancient Building Complex.

The road has contributed to the integrated development of agriculture and tourism in Kaiyang county.
