Guiyang Public Transport Group Co based in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, will seek to achieve 100 percent coverage of electric vehicles in three to five years, contributing to the city's efforts to conserve energy and reduce carbon emissions.
The city's excellent and good air quality rate in 2021 was 98.9 percent, meeting China's national second-level standard for five consecutive years, and ranking 4th among provincial capital cities across the country.
The improvement of air quality was partially due to Guiyang Public Transport Group Co's efforts to promote clean energy in public transport.
From oil to gas and pure electricity, the company has been seeking to develop green public transportation.
Guiyang Public Transport Group Co has already put 687 pure electric vehicles into use and built 83 pure electric vehicle charging piles and 15 charging stations.
