Residents of Guiyang city, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, can now inquire about bus lines, bus transfers, take buses and customize bus services just with their smartphones.
In recent years, the Guiyang Public Transport Group Co has focused on developing smart public transport to build a high-quality, safe and convenient urban public transport system.
By adopting the new generation of leading data technologies – such as cloud computing, big data and artificial intelligence – the company has upgraded its entire system, realizing precise management and services.
It has upgraded its existing on-board terminals, improved bus dispatching platform software and built three platforms for urban public transport industry regulation, intelligent management and operation of urban public transport enterprises, and passenger travel information services.
It has comprehensively upgraded its bus management system and installed sensing equipment and facilities for driving safety. It has also moved to prevent bus drivers from illegal driving, smoking and cell phone use while behind the wheel – with driving reminders, automatic warnings and intelligent analysis – greatly reducing bus accidents.
The company has also installed monitoring terminals for flammable and volatile substances and face recognition terminals on buses to enhance passengers' sense of travel safety.
So far, all buses in the main urban area of Guiyang have converted to intelligent dispatching and efficient operations.
Plans are for Guiyang Public Transport Group Co to build a public transportation data resource center, improve transfer services between metro lines and the municipal loop-line express rail, and develop a one-stop public transport service system for locals.
