Bus operator Guiyang Public Transport Group Co – based in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – opened two bus lines in the city on May 12 for the commuting rush hour and a special bus line for the Yu'an bus hub.
Buses B9 and B10 come equipped with BRT-type medium and high-grade air-conditioned vehicles, and charge a fare of 2 yuan ($0.29) per person. The operating hours are from 6:04-08:04 and 16:30-17:56 on weekdays.
The special bus for Yu'an hub is equipped with BRT-type medium-grade air-conditioned vehicles and charges 3 yuan per person. It has been introduced to meet the needs of residents in Zhongtian Future Ark and Zhongtian Sweet Town.
Ge Wei, deputy manager of the BRT Operations Branch of the bus operator, said Guiyang Public Transport had conducted surveys on the new needs of residents for public transport, and had continued to optimize and adjust its network based on the findings and on big data analysis.
The three new bus routes aim to further boost the bus connection capacity of Guiyang's Central Ring Road and improve the travel efficiency for passengers in various areas along the Central Ring Road.
