The three major railway stations in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, saw passenger throughput of more than 2.26 million from Jan 17 to Feb 15, up about 10 percent year-on-year.

The Guiyang North and East railway stations transported 84 percent of all passengers handled by the Guiyang, Guiyang North and East railway stations during this period.

The passengers were mainly composed of migrant workers, students, business people and tourists to Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, and Chongqing outside the province, as well as to Liupanshui, Zunyi, Bijie, Anshun, Kaili, and Tongren within the province.

Around 10 days remain of this year's Spring Festival travel rush from Jan 17 to Feb 25.

The local railway department predicts that until Feb 25, people from Guiyang will travel to East and South China, as well as the cities of Liupanshui, Zunyi, Bijie, Kaili, and Tongren in Guizhou province.
