New regulations for traffic safety to take effect soon

The "Guiyang Road Traffic Safety Regulations" will come into effect on Jan 1, 2022, according to an announcement by the Standing Committee of the Guiyang Municipal People's Congress on Dec 15. 

The regulations, which consist of 63 articles in nine chapters, focus on solving problems related to traffic safety, supplement and refine the law, and will help Guiyang to effectively carry out road traffic safety planning, construction, governance, and services.

The regulations aim to increase convenience and ensure travel safety while soliciting opinions and suggestions from the people. 

To overcome difficulties in parking, article No 37 regulates the placement of signs and markings in parking areas, temporary parking of other vehicles, and vehicle bypassing on certain occasions.

The regulations also clarify that the public security and transportation department should regularly evaluate traffic organization and the installation of traffic signals, signs, markings, and isolation facilities, listen to public opinion, and make adjustments in a scientific and reasonable manner.
