Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, officially carried out dual runway operation on Dec 2.
It thus became the first airport in China to allow aircraft to run both on the end-around taxiway and the start-around taxiway.

The centerlines of the two runways are 365 meters apart and their southern ends are aligned, while the northern end of the east runway is offset 500 meters northward from the northern end of the west runway. The flight area can accommodate aircraft as large as B747-400 models.
Qin Chao, director of the tower control room of the Guizhou Air Traffic Management Bureau, said that with the launch of dual runway operation, the number of departures and arrivals per hour will increase significantly and flight delay rates will decrease, improving the travel experience of passengers.
