The Guiyang traffic police department recently launched a special rectification action in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, to further regulate vehicle parking, according to the Guiyang Public Security Traffic Management Bureau on Nov 8.

The move is meant to further strengthen road traffic management and improve the efficiency of urban road traffic.

It focuses on preventing illegal parking on major and secondary arterial roads in urban areas, traffic hubs, and bus stations in districts, counties and county-level cities in Guiyang during rush hours, and strengthening traffic guidance in accordance with road traffic management on road sections around schools and hospitals.

The local traffic police have been conducting a comprehensive investigation of traffic signs, including no-parking signs, and fixing various problems; delimiting parking areas according to categories such as "no parking", "temporary parking permits", and "night-regulated parking", improving corresponding signs and markings and taking other measures to increase parking availability and further reduce illegal parking.

In addition, local traffic police have been working to improve the civility of drivers, urging them to abide by traffic laws so as to create a better traffic environment.
