The three major railway stations of Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, transported a record 868,000 passengers during the Oct 1-7 National Day holiday.
Data showed that from during the seven-day break, Guiyang Railway Station received 146,400 passengers, while Guiyang North Railway Station handled 629,600 passengers and Guiyang East Railway Station received 91,900 passengers.
The latter two high-speed railway stations accounted 83.12 percent of the total traffic volume, showing that high-speed rail has become the preferred method of travel.
In addition, the three major stations transported an average of 124,000 passengers per day, the highest level compared with the same period in previous years.
