The new Guiyang traffic safety publicity and education center started operating on June 16 in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, becoming the first of its kind in the city.
The facility was jointly built by the city's public security traffic management bureau and Guiyang Chengfa Driving Training School Co Ltd.
It aims to raise the public's awareness about traffic safety and safe driving, as well as help people abide by traffic safety laws and regulations and develop correct driving habits.
The center is equipped with virtual reality, or VR, experience devices. These can simulate severe weather conditions and environmental challenges, speeding and overloaded driving, safe driving in mountain tunnels, defensive driving, among others – all to vividly showcase and to promote traffic safety.
The center is open to the public free of charge, in order to further enhance the public's awareness of traffic laws and safety.
