The first phase of the Dulaying international land-sea logistics port in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was completed on Jan 29. According to local media reports, the project's completion marks a significant breakthrough in Guiyang's process of opening to the outside world.
The port, which is preparing to begin operations, integrates warehousing, cold chain services, e-commerce, supply chain finance, distribution processing and logistics information. Its operation will reduce logistics costs for enterprises and accelerate Guiyang's opening-up.
Located in Guiyang Free Trade Zone, the first phase of the logistics port began construction in December 2018. It is composed of a railway operation area, an urban distribution area and a supporting storage area, a service area and an office area.
The facility mainly accommodates business from the grain and oil, steel, building materials and fast-moving consumer goods industries.
The first stage is designed to handle an annual cargo throughput of 5 million metric tons, with an estimated output value of 210 million yuan ($32.53 million). It will create job opportunities for more than 1,000 people.
Local authorities said the planning of the project's second phase has begun. Following completion, the project will support Guizhou's opening-up and boost Guizhou's import and export trade.
